Broadway, Television, and Community Leadership
Harlem Week is much more than a music festival. It also celebrates theater, journalism, education, business, and community leadership.
Actors April Matthis and Michael Potts represented Broadway excellence through The Piano Lesson, while legendary singer Freddie Jackson delivered another memorable performance.
Veteran broadcaster G. Keith Alexander served as one of the event's hosts alongside acclaimed musical director Ray Chew, whose work has influenced countless televised productions.
One of my favorite moments was finally meeting NY1 News anchor Cheryl Wills, whose journalism has informed New Yorkers for decades.

Since its founding in 1974, Harlem Week has grown into one of America's premier celebrations of African American culture, entrepreneurship, education, music, history, and community.
Each year it brings together thousands of visitors while showcasing Harlem's continuing influence on entertainment, politics, literature, fashion, business, and the arts.
